About Pet's Best Friend

Susan with Rosie

In 1993, Susan Baker left the corporate world and turned her love and compassion for animals into a very enjoyable and rewarding career. When she purchased Pet's Best Friend from a neighbor, it was only a pet sitting service. Now, almost 30 years later, with many awards and accolades to her credit, Susan operates the only complete pet care service center in this area.

Susan credits her success to adhering strictly to the highest quality and standards of pet care, and to offering innovative services that meet the needs of pets and their owners. Susan and her staff take great pride in their work, maintaining a well supervised and controlled environment that is both safe and fun. They love and nurture each pet as if it were their very own.

Building on a Dream

In 2003, Susan diversified into the grooming industry by purchasing the salon on Zebulon Road and enrolling in pet grooming school. In 2004, she added a convenient Pet Taxi service. In 2005, a line of supplies was added inside the salon to complement the pet care solutions already offered by Pet's Best Friend. 2007 brought the very popular doggie daycare, which has grown and flourished into the mainstay of Pet's Best Friend.

With an ever increasing client base, the business soon outgrew the Zebulon Road location, and in 2013, Susan bought and renovated a 3000 square foot building, previously occupied by a local restaurant. The new facility is not only bright and cheerful, bringing smiles to pets and their owners alike, but boasts an even larger and more spacious indoor/outdoor doggie daycare than at the previous location.
